What the words DON’T mean

You know the scene. The husband and wife are having a difference of opinion. Both of them know full well there is a quiet disagreement happening right now. After a dark look, she responds with “we’re fine, you get going!”

But what do those words really mean?

If you are like most husbands, those words seem to echo far deeper into our identities – am I a bad husband? Are we just going to keep fighting later? I guess there’s no chance of meeting in the bedroom later.

We can be crushed – not by what was said, but instead by a meaning that doesn’t come from the actual words, but from our thoughts.

Join me in this episode as I discuss how our thoughts regularly create deeper, scarier, and often unintended meanings from other peoples words. We all do it – and well suffer when we do.

Lust is rampant. Pornography addictions likely affect somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of all Americans. We’re all suffering from the damage done by this problem.

But there is an even deeper problem with the sins of Lust – We Christians shame the sinners in a way that is not Godly.

Join me in this episode as I explore a proper way to look at one’s struggle with lust – whether pornography or otherwise. While never approving the sin, we all need to find a way to love and care for the sinner. Judgement, condemnation, and labelling only make the problem worse, and cause even more hurt.
